Fine Arts at The Village Lower School

The goal of The Village Lower School’s fine arts program is to encourage free creative expression using a variety of canvasses, materials, tools, instruments and palettes. Over the course of three years, students will dabble in nearly every art form and examine and experiment with the elements and principles of art.

Our Music Program allows students to explore and experiment with music and musical instruments as another avenue of creative expression. The students develop an understanding and respect of how to create and edit music, explore the history of music and lean an appreciation of different forms of music and cultures. The students conclude each semester with a music recital.

The history of art and art appreciation are also vital components of our comprehensive program. Students will also learn to look at art in a subjective manner and will be asked to share their observations and opinions.
