History Programs at The Village Lower School

At The Village Lower School, we take history lessons beyond simply instilling students with the knowledge of significant facts, people and dates. Through various projects, presentations and discussions, students can practically see historical characters come to life and are able to envision landmark moments in time.

We provide many field experiences for the students by bringing them to different locations to expand upon their discoveries. Through these exercises we help students develop a sense of how significant past events altered the course of history and shaped the world we live in today. Our topics of study range from Rhode Island’s and America’s rich history to Early World discoveries and happenings around the globe.
